I’m new to Intaglio and not particularly knowledgeable about graphics programs, so I may have my terms wrong. What I want to be able to do is distort a graphic or a collection of graphics (including text) so that the top is narrower than the bottom— for example, turn a rectangular graphic into a trapezoid. (I’m going for the “vanishing point” effect, such as with the text at the start of “Star Wars”, or as if looking up from the base of a tall building.)
As far as I can tell, the Shear command slants the entire graphic one way or another. What I want to do is to be able to slant the graphic towards the center line, so that one side slants in to the right and the other in to the left (as if an H were turned into an A). Is there a simple way to do this?

I don’t think Intaglio can do it.
I once tried to do something like that: let ABC be a triangle, let M
be the midpoint of AB and let N be the midpoint of AC. So MN is
parallel to BC. The idea is that no matter how you pull A away, MN
should remain parallel to BC but I was not able to let Intaglio
illustrate it.
The only way if can see how to do this is with programs where you
enter points by giving their coordinates so that you could enter the
coordinated of M, N in terms of those of A, B, C. Then changing the
coordinates of A would automatically change those of M, N.
