action-color default colour name

I may have asked this before (or just dreamt it);

Can an action-color control specify a default name for a color if one doesn’t already exist?

So this;

currently creates the colour #0b0b0b and calls it Color 1 if it doesn’t already exist. If the colour exists then the control takes the existing colour name (which is nice).

What I want to do is this;

Thanks!
Tim.

Hi Tim
You already probably know… this but I cant see any reference in any documentation to controlling or adding a colours name like “my red colour” as a specified default, which i suppose means there is no way to use it within freeways edit colours popup… it seems if a colour is specified it doesn’t have any other control which can be seen within the application…

thats unless some one at SP knows differently

Hi Max,
Thanks for the conformation. It is a pity as I’d really like to be able to specify a set of default colours in an Action and have the user know how they got created and where they are used when they later look through the names in the colour palette.
Regards,
Tim.

Yep I agree
its a bit reminiscent of how styles are created and named on the fly e.g. style26 and style27… Colours which are named Color 1 Color 2 etc are fairly useless when you cant really tell them apart visualy

It would be a nice feature to be able to name them via an action if its created them.

I remember asking for this quite some time ago - I think it’s a necessity as the user may, for whatever reason, delete colours created (and possibly needed) by Actions. Giving them a name that is perhaps unique to that Action will at least give them a clue that the colour has a purpose.

These colour names should also be set from the Action’s code as well.
