Adding and Subtracting Points or Nodes

How do you add and delete points from a freehand shape?

If you highlight a node using the point selection tool and hit the delete key, the point disappears.

You can add points to the end of a line segment, but I haven’t figured out how to add a point mid segment. If you find that out, please post something

Highlight and hit Backspace will work too.

To add a point to a closed path use the scissor tool and click where the new point should appear - then go to the “Stroke” tab and check close.

To add a point to an open path use the scissor tool and click where the new point should appear - then frame select these new points (It´s 2 not just 1) and go menu → Object-> Path-> Join

To add a point to an end of an open path - go in edit mode - hold “alt”-key down and click onto an endpoint. The “path tool” will be automatically established and you can now add points.

To close an open path while drawing with the “path tool” go the end point, hold “alt-key” down again and watch the cursor show a tiny circle what indicates “ready to close” and click (&drag if you´re in the need of a curvature)

Cheers
