Again a how is this done please!

i looked everywhere, but can’t find this. I tried flashden, i tried i think everywhere, but i don’t even know what it is.
a new client want’s to do something like it.
Measuring flooring in a small application. but can it be done? and perhaps…how??
would anybody know what it is?
the link:

Since it is a dutch website, i would like to point to the ‘1’ on the left top. You click on it and you go and can get carried away buying countertops, granite and marble kitchen countertops ( i think)

can this be done, for flooring / etc…?

This application is written in PHP, and uses a lot of JavaScript to
switch the tabs around. But basically it is a custom store written
specifically for the type of product that is being sold. Converting
the measurements to a cost is simple math, but presenting all the
different options that they do (bevel type, number of beveled edges,
etc.) is not simple to do unless you are only selling one or two
different things, or are not allowing the sorts of “choose your
kitchen layout” options that they are.

If you were to copy this site completely, it would be a lot of work.
It would be a good idea to ask your client for a list of must-haves
and nice-to-haves, and start from there.

If you just want to figure out the length x width, that’s a pretty
trivial task, and you can do it in almost any server-side language.
You could also figure it out in JavaScript, but never trust the site
visitor so much as to use JavaScript to calculate a price that you
count on in your store. If you use JS, do so because you want the
client to have a fast (no page loads) experience. Always back it up on
the server with a real test to make sure someone hasn’t pulled a fast
one and reduced your price constant from $100/square meter to $1/
square meter.

Dear waldt.
what a kind man you are!
This is far more than i thought. I was hoping that it would be something like a swf and it looks like this is to much work for the petite site i’m working on.
I don’t mind the work, but it’s not worth it. sometimes you have to say no.

I’m so greatfull, you saved me a lot of headache! THANK you!!

Besides that… it tells me here that it needs IE; won’t even work with my Firefox.
Not very user’s friendly…

Site does not work here in Safari. It says that the site uses session cookies. I have - as a standard-switched off all cokkies that do not come from the site itself. Maybe these session cookies come from another domain.

Indeed, not your site, so why bother. But strange enough, site does not work here in Safari 4.04 (with ALL cookies on.) FF, Opera Omniweb, still this message about ‘session cookies’. Firewall maybe?
Anyway, it’s not my cup of tea at all. Yes I do granite, but no kitchens
