Hoping someone knows the answer! I want to take a basic font, like Helvetica, and make the lines look a bit more hand-drawn. Is there a simple way to do this that I just don’t know? I figure it has to be in EFFECTS maybe but I just don’t use that much so I don’t have much of a clue where to start.
Anyone have some pointers for me? It would be much appreciated!
cheers

Like Convert->Text to path? Then you get editable shapes.

PS: That is of course a very manual approach, but I don’t know any
effect that would help.

Probably not, only because that would require editing every letter individually I think. I am looking more for an overall change to the feel of the letters. They don’t need to vary, just have them more like a handwritten font - so every E can look identical, it doesn’t need to very to looks REALLY handwritten IYKWIM.

Yep. That’s the problem. I’ll keep playing and see - maybe the way to go is to find the font I want to use (Helvetica) but that has already been made to look handwritten by someone else. There are alot of free handwritten fonts, one of them might work
Yes, it would, but that is the only way I can find to change the actual
shape in any nontrivial way. The effects are generally pixel-level post
processing and mostly single things like affine transformations. For
handwriting, I would just switch to another font.

PS: “single” should read “simple”. Simple as in limited.
