And yet they have totally dominated this Cyber Monday news cycle. It’s a PR triumph, and an example of trying to figure out where the puck will be.
I think it’s a useless thing for me, but I know there are people stroking their chins right now, trying to figure out how to order their own fleet of flying monkeys to do good/evil. Amazon is big enough to push the FAA around and get the discussion going. Whether they ever do this, whether it ever makes sense, we will see.
One of the more interesting things I read about this today was the idea that in a densely populated urban core, with a Distribution Center just outside the expensive real estate line, they could really clean up delivering small, high-value things to wealthy idiots. What does it cost to get a truck down the clogged arteries of NYC to your door? What would certain people pay, late at night, to have some condoms delivered to their fire escape in 30 minutes or less?

Also, how many thieve are thinking of ways to intercept these things. Or,
how many others of shooting them down for sport?
How many of those will be recently unemployed delivery drivers?
I sure hope someday they invent a machine to replace CEOs and managers,
just to see how they like it.
