ANN: Easy Web Animator 3 released

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve just added a new version of Easy Web Animator to the Softpress site. Easy Web Animator 3 builds on the success of the previous application by adding new drawing and animation tools while retaining the ease-of-use of the previous version. If you want to create interactive Flash-based animations without the overhead of getting into Flash itself then Easy Web Animator 3 is well worth a closer look;

Users of Easy Web Animator 2 should note that the file format has changed between version 2 and 3 so although we’d encourage you to download and fully road test the 15 day trial please work on a copies of your existing EWA 2 files.
Regards,
Tim.

With Flash content kind of dying out these days due to the popularity of HTML5 and CSS3, this program could be vintage soon enough.

Plus I hope they update it more since version 2 only saw maybe one update.

Just downloaded the latest version, loaded it up and it said there was a new version, clicked the link to update it and it takes me to this page:

http://www.easywebanimator.com/newrelease/3/

Which obviously is nothing but a 404 error. Just a heads up to anyone who upgrades or has the software suggest there’s an upgrade. Seems a bit amateurish.

Oh, the download now link after purchase is the old version of it. Nice, customers have to actually go to Google, search for the app, visit the developer website, click download, and get the latest version.

To save some time for people who purchase this, just download it here and then put your serial in there: http://www.easywebanimator.com/download.html

Just to clarify before people jump on me for this one. The download, after purchase, isn’t the most current version. Not sure as to the why, but upon loading the app it will say that a new version is available and if you click the link it takes you to a garbled page that resembles that of a 404.

Well, what do you do and how could they miss that?

Then my instructions come in and you can then download the latest version from the developer.

This wasn’t to bash Softpress, however the people that make this app are who is referenced in the “Sometimes I wonder who runs this gig” comment because come on it seems like a lot of legwork just to update this program and a 404, well a garbled bunch of text really, just doesn’t sit fair to the customer.

Hi guys,

We’re just updating the version in our store and have contacted the developer to update their automatic update page. You can already get the most up to date version direct from us here:

Sorry for the confusion!

Joe

Despite the fact that it says it is a Universal Binary and will run on OS 10.4 and above it will not run on a PPC machine, nice waste of time downloading the trial that was !

The free edition is also now available through the Mac App store.

Hopefully Joe and Tim are aware of these critical errors here and are doing their best to ensure the product that Softpress is selling is advertised as so.

I’m not sure I would use the word critical but the error you mentioned in your earlier email where a previous build of EWA 3 was available for purchasers has been corrected. The version on both our site as well as through our online store is the latest - version 3.0.1.
Rest assured that we are always here to make things better.
Regards,
Tim.

I think it’s absolutely critical Tim when it comes to people spending money on a product that they soon come to find is not correctly advertised on your own companies website nor working on a PPC Mac, as advertised. I’m rather shocked you would say that.

Universal Binary? Nope.

Glad to see the version is corrected and hopefully the information on the SP site can be changed to the correct information which at 3:45pm CST is not changed.

Does anyone know how to activate the 15 day trial? I’ve downloaded and installed but it won’t run without a serial number.
