Don’t need anything too sophisticated, just to create folders for each client and in that put the fonts used for their jobs and have auto activation for Quark, Illustrator etc…
Always used Suitcase but at $99.95, but if there’s a cheaper option available…
Not too keen on Fontbook particularly or is that me?
This is compatible with up to CS3 you will need the new V2 for CS4 for automatic activation with CS4. Personally I dislike auto-activation of fonts so the older free version may suffice. Even if you purchased the new Fontexplorer v2 it would be cheaper that Suitcase and in my NSHO (not so humble opinion) better value.
Insider Software’s ‘Fontagent Pro’ is also worthy of a look but is the same price as Suitcase. http://www.insidersoftware.com/
Disclaimer: The last version of Suitcase I liked was version 3 (long ago). Later versions were so buggy and problematic for years that my brain cannot accept that it may finally be worth buying again. I no longer will ‘pick up the soap’ for Suitcase. My problem not yours
Thanks Keith for restoring some objectiveness to my post. Some days I really miss the simplicity of some applications.
Like when Illustrator was svelte and efficient (ended with v5.5) or when Word was itty bitty (also v5).

Sorry to butt in K old boy but I wondered if anyone has tried this software yet please
it won an Apple design award - looks neat and probably will do all I need and the price is ok at $56, not sure if it is just pretty or will it do a proper job ?
I tried the demo some time back and found it interesting but couldn’t
justify the cost when the free Linotype works well for me. Still,
worth keeping an eye on.
