Applying Master Pages

Is there a way to apply a master page to a regular page?

For instance, I can’t seem to get Freeway to Preview in Browser a secondary master page. It does the home page, but when I do another, it keeps showing the home page when previewing, so I have to keep going to the regular page to preview, but then I wind up altering the regular page, forgetting to go back to the master page. So, I need a way to reapply the master page to a regular page.

Hope that makes sense!

Use “Reapply Master” in the Page menu.

Use it with care: you may find that Freeway has re-set something you didn’t want re-set.

OK. Thanks.

I noticed occasionally Freeway has a mind of it’s own.

Is there a reason why I can only preview the home page master when I Preview in Browser? If I click on my next Master Page and go to Preview in Browser, the home page comes up.

I don’t think Freeway necessarily previews the home page when a master page is selected: it simply previews the first page in the list. It happens that the first page in the list is usually the index page,.

If you’re working on a new master page and want to preview it, the best way is to create a page from it and preview that. Of course you’ll need to remember to go back to the master page and not to the new page to continue editing!

A master page is just the framework for the actual pages that you
create. No HTML output is made for any master page. If you are
working on a ‘real’ (non-master) page, previewing will show you that
page in a browser. If you’re on a master page when you try to
preview, you’ll see the home page for the site.

OK, thanks guys.

Yes the “remembering to go back to the master” has KILLED me in the last to days!
