Assign an internal hyperlink to a button in Pro

Hi. I want to use a button instead of simply a word or graphic to point to another page on my site but I can’t seem to find asn option to assign the link to the button. Can anyone help please?

Your button is a graphic item so you link in the same way.

Try this:

  1. Draw a graphic shape.

  2. From Items > Actions choose Buttons and adjust in the Action window.

  3. With the button selected go to the bottom left of the Page window and click on ‘No link’ and a pop up list of all your pages will appear.

  4. Select the page you need for your link.

You can make your button a rollover or import a button as a graphic from, say, Photoshop, if you wish and just do the same.

Thanks. I’ll give it a go. SO much to learn and so little time!

Thanks again. I ended up creating a button using a Shape in word. It looks better than the Freeway one.

Assigning a link to ANY graphic item in FW is as simple as selecting the item and then going down to the link selector at the bottom of the FW window.

This is defaulted to No Link. Clicking on it will bring up the list of all your Internal FW pages and also the option to create a link to an external page.

Any application that creates graphics/images can be used to create a button which can then be imported into FW - but remember to choose a suitable file format. Gif, jpeg and png are the most common.

FW does make it very easy to create Rollovers without having to jump out to an external application and back into FW which means a more streamlined workflow.

There are many actions such as ‘Fill Master’ which will help you create better looking stuff than Word can ever hope to achieve once you know where to look.

Thanks Dave. As usual, you’ve come up trumps.
