I’m putting together a professional voicemail message for my business. I’m hiring a professional voice artist to record the greeting, but I plan on adding some background music.
What’s the best Mac compatible app to use for this and what file format should I ask my voicemail artist to provide me?
Most pros will deliver in WAV or AIFF. both of these are uncompressed formats, and the only other thing you want to watch is the sample rate and width. When i record, it is usually in 96Khz 24-bit, and Logic saves in AIFF by default. Anything CD-quality or above is fine (it will be entirely wasted by the compression used in the phone system). CDs are 48Khz 16- bit.
As far as editing goes, I use Logic Pro, but many people swear by GarageBand for this sort of thing.
