Is it possible to set up an automated email within Freeway Pro?

I want to set up a page that will sell a product and accept payment through Paypal, which then redirects the purchaser to a page to download the product.

Is there a way to also send out an automated email with the download link information?

I don’t think it’s possible through Paypal as it only sends a transaction confirmation email which can’t be edited.

I am very new to e-commerce, so any advice would be gratefully received.

Hi Shawn, I set up this site selling music (ringtones) which sounds like it might be similar to what you are looking for.

I used PayPal for the payments but Mals eCommerce for the cart. In addition, I also used Linklok to handle all the download links. Once a purchase is made, the customer can download the product straight away. In addition, an email is also sent with a download link that expires after 24 hours (this functionality is handled by Linklok)

This was the first one I had done and as long as you follow the instructions step by step, it is not too daunting.

I thought that the Paypal button setup includes this behavior as an option

  • to direct to a specific page url after purchase is completed.

It does but the url is not protected and can be shared easily. The Mals/Linklok combination stops this happening.

Hi Big Ern.

Paypal does give the option to go to a specified page, it’s just that I also need an automated email to go out with the download link. This is just in case someone who, say, uses their phone to purchase, but want to download the purchase onto their computer at a later time.

I’m going to give my client the option with AND without the email as they might not want to pay the extra for it anyway.

I use LinkLokIPN for my Actions - PayPal pings their script, and it emails a download link to the buyer.
