Even though it has been quiet recently, Backdraft is still alive and fully operational in the current version of Freeway 7, and you can get help at Premium Support | Backdraft: The Responsive Framework for Freeway 
However, in the interest of full disclosure, I have no plans to update it until Softpress rolls out the next big update to Freeway, primarily because nobody has reported any bugs with the latest version.
