Backdraft: responsive slideshow Urgent

I am building a website using Caleb Grove’s excellent responsive Backdraft template. I need to get a slideshow in there quickly and I am stumped. Exhibeo isn’t responsive.

HELP!

Justin Easthall did a great job for his website here: http://www.easthalldesign.com
As you will see in the source code the slideshow was done with WOW Slider.

Is (something like) this what you’re looking for?

That’s exactly what I’m looking for. I have tried but with no success!

Wow,… How can this be done?
@Caleb: maybe a good idea to sell a template with the slider included. I sure am interested to buy.

If I were Caleb, I’d sell a slider module as a separate solution.

There are lots of sliders available. I would like to use Exhibeo - I use it in lots of websites.

I just need to know how to make Exhibeo responsive within the template.

There is a list in here where Caleb asked for a possible slider solution (forgot which one).

The answers in short (and from memory):

No (free) WYSIWYG one for Freeway, cause carousel and showcase aren’t responsive.

WOW is paid, external and but WYSIWYG and I wonder what spectacular difficulties it should make to implement it in the template (the same for Exhibeo)?

All the rest (pretty cool ones out there) requires (more or less) a lil bit of hand-coding. And the better ones aren’t for free as well.

But maybe I missed an aspect so apologize in advance.

Cheers

Thomas,

I agree, I am using hype in one of my backdraft websites - and there is a bit of coding - but Caleb - made instructions that make it simple.

Also, the only one of the exhibeos that do not play nice is the slide - the rest work - per Caleb.

Thomas.

The Exhibeo slideshows play OK. But are not responsive they do not alter size as the page shrinks.

Really, I thought there were two of them that were responsive - the Focus
and Bloxx template?

But neither Focus nor Bloxx is a slideshow. You are correct that once opened both are responsive, but I need a slideshow on the page.

Wow, it’s been busy here. Let’s start from the top:

@Ernie: If I were Caleb, I’d sell a slider module as a separate solution.

Right now I’m not advanced enough in my javascript or action-writing kung-foo to do this, and have very little time left over after client work and helping my customers to invest in learning at this moment.

@Thomas: No (free) WYSIWYG one for Freeway, cause carousel and showcase aren’t responsive.

You are correct.

@Thomas: WOW is paid, external and but WYSIWYG and I wonder what spectacular difficulties it should make to implement it in the template (the same for Exhibeo)?

Actually, the implementation is pretty basic: you just copy the code over and then upload the resources. I hope to write up complete directions for this shortly.

@swimmer35: Also, the only one of the exhibeos that do not play nice is the slide - the rest work - per Caleb.

Right. Bloxx and Focus are fully flexible-width (responsive friendly). Impress is flexible down to 640px, but then you would need to hide it with some custom CSS and likely show an image in it’s place. Slide is not flexible at all, and therefor unsuitable for Backdraft.

Graham: But neither Focus nor Bloxx is a slideshow. You are correct that once opened both are responsive, but I need a slideshow on the page.

Currently the best option out there for this is WOWslider. I really wish that Softpress would make Exhibeo’s slide theme responsive, but they haven’t at this moment.

I’m afraid that’s all I have to offer at the moment, there is a big need for a flexible-width WYSIWYG slideshow solution for Freeway. I would hope that either Softpress or one of our amazing action writers will jump on this.

Has there been any update on the Side theme in the new 1.1 Exhibeo update? Is it now responsive

The Exhibeo web page advertises "Responsive Layouts - Exhibeo’s theme designs are responsive so they grow and shrink to fit different browsers and devices – perfect for showing your photos at their best, wherever they’re viewed.

Hi,

Is there any way to customise the buttons on the slideshows?

Thanks

Mog,

You should be able to find the graphic files for the controls in Exhibeo’s output and replace them with your own.
