Basic 'slideshow' containing blocks of text?

I’m desperately trying to figure out how to build a basic “slideshow” element (with previous/next controls) to display a series of client testimonials, made up of simple HTML text. The example link that I provided shows what I’m after (scroll down to the “testimonials” section). In years past, I might have turned to Carousel for something like this, but from what I understand it won’t work in a flexible/responsive layout. I’m sure there’s a fairly straightforward way to accomplish this, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what it is. Someone on an older thread mentioned something called Hype (?)…I read the instructions on that and it made my eyes glaze over immediately. Ugh. I’m really hoping there’s a much simpler solution, one that doesn’t go so deeply “under the hood” so to speak. Any how-to’s or general advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

The only thing that comes to mind is to use the NewsCycle action, but that does not have any Previous/Next controls.

The Action can be found here:

Of course if you converted your text into images you could try WowSlider which is fully responsive. But then the text cannot be seen by the search engines …

Hi John!

Yes, something like NewsCycle is almsot exactly what I need. It’s a very simple, elegant solution for rotating text, except of course it doesn’t have the control capability. I really, really have my heart set on being able to manually advance through the testimonials…sigh
