Cables

This is probably obvious so I apologize if it is.

Just got a new MacBook Pro and was ready to migrate files from an
external FW backup drive when I noticed that none of my FW cables will
fit the MB, ie, the connectors are way too big. What kind of cable/
connector should I be looking for? Or is this something I can do over
a wireless (Airport Extreme) network?

Thanks,

Todd

macbook pro uses standard firewire 800 cable connector. you likely
have the 400 cable - they make FW 400 to 800 cables which work fine.

The MBP is FW800 - so presumably your backup drive is FW400.

You can get a FW400 - 800 cable/adaptor from the usual outlets.

And the migration process is probably best done over FW.
