Cannot View Uploaded (Dot Mac) Site

I have a Freeway site which uploads without any apparent problems to a folder within the Sites folder on my Dot Mac iDisk. But when I attempt to access that site I get the “We’re sorry but we can’t find the homepage you’ve requested.” message.

I have a fair number of other Freeway created sites in the same iDisk folder and they all open correctly when accessed via a browser. The same site that won’t upload displays fine when “Preview in Browser” is selected within Freeway.

And, yes, I’ve checked over and over that the URL to the site is correct!

Any thoughts and/or solutions will be greatly appreciated.

Adding to my opening posting in this thread…

If I open the iDisk Public folder, and then within that open the Sites folder, and then within that open the folder for the site in question, and then double-click on the index.html file the site will open and perform correctly in my default browser which happens to be Safari.

Adding a correction to my preceding posting…

The reference to “iDisk Public folder” should have read “iDisk folder”.

what url are you using?
address should be something like this:

http://homepage.mac.com/chuckusher/c21/index.html

That is the address to a site in my “sites” folder on my idisk.
Note it’s “homepage”.mac not “web.mac”.

Here is the URL I’m using without success…

http://homepage.mac.com/taliesinsoft/April_SIG/

I’ve also tried, again without success, removing the http:// at the beginning and adding index.html at the end.

The above format for a URL works successfully with other Freeway implemented sites I’ve placed within the Sites folder of my iDisk.

Many thanks for offering to help!

Continuing from my preceding posting…

If I navigate within my iDisk to the site folder in question and then click on the object labelled index.html the site will open just fine! In that case the URL displayed in Safari is…

file:///Volumes/taliesinsoft/Sites/April_SIG/Index.html

*** Victory at Last ***

It turns out that the person who initially implemented the site changed the name “Site Folder” to “April SIG” and when I changed it back and then uploaded the site the site would now open correctly.

As an aside, the site, which was done as a training aid for a lass in Freeway Express, also includes a Google map, and I had to reapply for the code from Google in order to get the map to work.

All in all an interesting exercise in debugging!
