Can't Import svg files

I cannot import or open svg graphics from the Open Clip Art Library http://openclipart.org/ with Intaglio 3.0.2. Clip Art says it complies with the W3C standard which apparently is not understood by all Mac OS X applications. I opened one file in TexEdit and see it was created with Inkscape. I can view these files in Safari, the only other svg aware application I have. Why can’t Intaglio open them? What type of svg can Intaglio open?

Mac G3PPC with 600 MHz G4 processor, system 10.4.11.

I’ve tested Intaglio with files from that site before and just went back and tried a few of their latest submissions. I didn’t have any problems. Can you send me a copy of a file you’re having trouble with to nick (at) purgatorydesign.com?
