Cant open in FW5

Help

I built my web site in an old version of Freeway, and now I’ve upgraded to 5 I can’t seem to open the old site at all. I can see all the html pages, and the .bak file but they are all greyed out - I can’t select them.

Help !

What do I need to do open my old web site ?

Thanks for any replies

peter

It seems you don’t have your origional Freeway-document at all, do you? The html-files are just output, so ignore them.

You do have your backupfile, so open that one by Alt+Command+O (Open backup) … should work.

When FW5 opened your old file it created a old copy that you can go back to and open with a previous version.

It should be called something like: yoursite[FW4].freeway

Have a look for it.

Thanks Guys.

No luck I’m afraid. Alt+Command+O just produces a blank page so I think the back up file has become overwritten, and I can’t find any evidence of a file like “yoursite[FW4].freeway”.
Is there no way of using the outputted .html pages and bringing them back into freeway ?

I’m just going to toss this out there. You may be out of luck. I know I ran into a similar situation a while back where I upgraded my Freeway and the file associations were gone. Freeway didn’t understand how to open it’s own file format and all the HTML output was there, the .BAK file was selectable, but the freeway file was grayed out.

I just rebuilt the whole thing and started from scratch. Hopefully this isn’t the case with you, but it sounds similar to what happened to me.
