I have a project where the carousel action from waltd would be great to have, but there is one prerequisite, I’m not aware if that will work with Carousel:
Let’s say I have five frames to slide forth and back. From frame one, the user decides by clicking at a link to either go directly to frame two or frame four.
When deciding to jump to frame four the animation should ignore the frames between, namely two and three (not showing them during the animation).
I wonder how this can be achieved ? But maybe there are also alternative solutions to think about…
Carousel actually moves the “strip” of frames to make the effect, so it can’t do what you describe. But ScriptyFader can do these sorts of non-linear transitions. The only difference is that it does a cross-fade rather than a wipe.
ScriptyFader… that would be worth looking at; the kind of transition doesn’t really matter. It’s just important that I can use HTML boxes, because there will be mixed contents of text, form elements and some graphics.
I just posted an update to the Action that includes a Text Link like
the one for Carousel. This lets you use HTML text to signal to the
fader which element to show.

Hi again,
I had a look at ScriptyFader, but found that there it’s not possible
to have a text link for directly accessing one of the frames.
The Thumbnail part seems to work only on images, however I need to
get the target frame selected by the user through a modified pop-up
menu box.
I wonder if you can give me another hint, maybe there is a way to
manage this project the easy way
