Carousel and Rollovers

I have a carousel that’s working great, and when I click on an rollover item within that carousel I have a hidden layer that shows. This works fine, but if I click on the next button to show a new pane, the hidden layer item is still active.

Is there a way of this hidden item fading away again when the carousel is clicked?

A link to your example might help.

I cannot upload it I’m afraid - it’s for a presentation and I’ve been told by the client it cannot go online - it’s a secure document.

Basically the layer remains active unless it’s toggled off. I suspect that’s the only way to do it.

Thanks

If your rollover layer is part of the pane (a positioned child) then it will be clipped by the action of the carousel effect. When the strip of panes slides to the left or right, that particular rollover will be hidden by the frame. But if it is outside of the carousel, then the changing of the panes cannot affect it. In any case, even if you have the rollover entirely within the pane, moving that pane left or right cannot change the status of the rollovers on top of it.

Think of the carousel effect like this: all of your panes are stapled to a long roll of paper, which is held behind a screen that has a rectangular hole cut into it. Pushing one or the other button (or a tab) simply moves that roll of paper left or right, revealing a different part of the whole.
