I just discovered that you don’t need to stack all the panes of a Carousel in order to get them to work. This has huge benefits for being able to see your layout and work in a WYSIWYG manner.
The only trick here is that you must put the first pane where you want the Carousel to publish. It should be the lowest layer (closest to the bottom) which is to say highest in the Site pane list. All of the rest of the panes can be anywhere – even on the pasteboard – and as long as they are grouped with that first pane, the Action will scoop them up and do all the magic for you.
