Changing fonts in Focus

Is there any way to change the font family and size in Focus?

If you post a link to the Focus page/gallery you wish to change the font on we can probably come up with some CSS to do the trick for you.

And some info on what you want to change it to.

Thanks for the prompt reply David.

I just worked out how to do it (and change the thumb sizes) by editing the resources/focus-styles.css document.

Works fine but every time I regenerate the html page from Freeway the focus-styles.css document obviously reverts to the default.

No big deal but it might be something to add to future releases.

I always appreciate your quick and helpful responses.

Is there any way to change the font family and size in Focus?

Other than the Titles and Captions control from within Exhibeo itself?

Add your title and caption by clicking the grid icon at the window bottom,
then double clicking the slide image you wish to add to. After that, the
gear controls in the upper right of the window to reveal the control panes
General, Thumbnail Style, Image Style, and Titles and Captions - that last
is where you can adjust Font Family, size, color, etc.

Thanks Erns. I was aware of that function but I can’t work out how to add extra fonts to the dropdown list which comes up.

Yeah, but figured I should start basic instead of assuming you meant something more than. However, I see from your other reply that you’re familiar with editing Exhibeo’s CSS file (the one Freeway generates from the imported file, or do you know how to edit the Package Contents version?)

Since in either case editing the Exhibeo document overwrites the custom changed CSS code, there are two obvious solutions I recommend (I never suggest waiting for the app to be developed to your liking, as that almost never happens in real life).

My first and best is Discipline - you know what to expect so work with the flaws, not against them. Since Exhibeo overwrites the custom code, then get the file to do what you want before customizing the code and save yourself all that rework.

The other suggestion is keeping a duplicate of the custom code - far smarter to copy/paste the bits you need if/when the custom code is overwritten.

Both Exhibeo and Freeway become much easier to work with despite their flaws when you learn to work with this attitude. Been there done that.

Thanks Erns. I was aware of that function but I can’t work out how to add extra fonts to the dropdown list which comes up.

Thanks Erns – I agree and it’s good way to learn.

I’ll adopt your suggestion of simply keeping a duplicate of the custom code.

Sorry, late to the game here – there is actually a way to add to the list that appears in Exhibeo. Open the Finder and navigate to Exhibeo.app. Right/Control click on the application and choose Show Package Contents. Now go to Contents>Resources and double click on the file XBFontList.txt and add your own font stacks to the list following the pattern of the existing ones.

If you’re adding web fonts you need to make sure you’re linking to them on your web page – you won’t see the web font in Exhibeo, unfortunately.

Hope this helps!
Joe
