I’ve noticed in Xway 1.0 that ‘Check Document’ in the File menu is greyed out. Does this mean there are no errors in the document? (Highly unlikely with my limited skills.)
Also, a minor irritation – is there a way to stop Xway opening a new document every time the programme is started up? Some other programmes do the same thing (Word, Excel etc), but they close the new document as soon as an existing one is opened.
Thanks
Geoff
It shouldn’t be greyed out, but I see that this also happens for me with the release version of Xway 1.0, although it doesn’t happen with internal builds. I’ll log a bug and we will fix this soon!
If a document does have problems, that’s nothing to do with your skills. Xway documents can have problems because of bugs in previous versions of Xway, or because of bugs in Freeway (if the document started as a Freeway document).

This is standard macOS behaviour [*] for document-based apps (e.g. TextEdit) rather than anything that Xway is doing - but I agree that it would be nice to replace an empty document with a newly opened document. I’ve noticed that some apps (not TextEdit) do this, but I haven’t investigated how we can implement this. I’ll log a suggestion.
[*] It wasn’t standard behaviour in “Classic” (pre-OSX) macOS.
