CodeIgnitor

Since Expression Engine v2 is being rewritten using CI my curiosity is
piqued and I decided to have a closer look at it [CI]. Has anyone used
this PHP framework? Opinions, comments?

I looked at it a couple of years ago, when it was still quite raw, and was very impressed. You might also look at CakePHP, which is BSD licensed, if that matters to you or your clients. Both are solid MVC frameworks that emphasize a Rails-like site structure. If you want to use either with Freeway, be prepared for a lot of fiddling with Actions or a text editor to get paths right.

CI looks to be well documented and is maintained by the EllisLab guys
(EE) so I would assume it to be an impressive framework. I’ll have to
take a closer look.
