I’ve spent hours trying to resolve what may be some kind of bug either in Freeway or Safari.
I go to my master page and select CSS layout. I then create an HTML object and type the name of one of my menu items. I then link that menu item to one of my existing pages in the site. This changes the color of the menu item text from the default black to and underlined blue. I then select the HTML box with the menu item, and under the links option of the inspector, choose red as the normal color and yellow as the hover color. I deselect underlining for both of these options.
I then upload my site to test things out in both Safari and Firefox. Here’s where the error appears. In Safari, the text for the menu item is the original blue in the normal position (not white) and yellow when I hover. But in Firefox, the menu item is correctly red in its normal position and yellow when I hover.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, is it browser specific or a bug in Freeway?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated as I’ve wasted a lot of time on this already. Thanks in advance.
(I’ve also tried this using the Actions Menu with the same results.)
I’ve tested this out in Google Chrome, and it also does the same thing as Safari. It’s correct on my Blackberry and incorrect on my iPhone. Sometimes if I close Safari down and reopen it, the correct red menu item appears. But once I click on it, it reverts back to blue again.
You’re probably seeing the “visited” color here. Be sure, if you use
the link options anywhere in Freeway, to set the color for all four
states of your links: link, visited, hover, and active.

Thanks for the VERY helpful suggestions and responses. You’re a bunch of very bright guys.
I think this is a very non-intuitive feature of the program and should be addressed through a fix or better instructions. I also apologize for my slight color blindness when referring to the purple as blue!
