Contact no. for Have Host or James Wilkinson -kind of urgent

Every domain hosted with my reseller account is down, plus all my email. I have been trying to contact him through Support tickets, but I’m not getting a response. Are there other addresses he will respond to.

I’d be interested to know if other HH customers are experiencing the same issue?

Yes, indeed, kind of reinforces the “all your eggs in one basket thing.” I’ve got several sites on Have-Host. C’mon, James! Do something!

I feel for you. I know what it’s like. I had this happen to me a couple of
times before I found my present hosting company. I suggest that you email
all your customers right away and assure them that you are aware there is a
hosting problem and it is being worked on. I have found it is better to send
an email out to everyone first before they panic and start calling you!

P.S. This is why I didn’t tell my clients yet. It happened quickly enough that they may not have even noticed. I would not want to get them worried over a relatively brief outage. I also did not have any information to pass on to them from James. If I had heard from him that the fix was some time off, I could tell my clients that once I knew.

Things seem to be back up now. Robin, have to agree with you.

It just worries me that I don’t seem to be getting any response to my Tickets either through DzynLab or HH. Submitted a Ticket to HH about a week ago and have heard nothing, even though I did find a solution, a response still hasn’t come through.

When you signed up for hosting at HH, did you give them an e-mail that
WASN’T hosted at HH for them to use when contacting you? That’s one of
the few reasons I keep my dot Mac (er, Me) account around… Otherwise
it’s a chicken-or-egg problem if their servers are down.

Some of the hosts are providing Twitter and RSS feeds with status, all
automated, and all run from completely separate servers and networks.

Well…I contacted James through Dzyn Lab yesterday at 7.00am BST and I still haven’t heard a squeak. Is it possible he’s ill or something?

If it was just my website that’s no big deal particularly, but the 25 or so I’ve got hosted with me is worrying.

I actually had a problem recently with a domain (& website) that vanished. I started a support Ticket at Have-Host and have heard nothing in over a week. As it happened in this instance it down to Demon who in their wisdom decided to change the nameservers without telling me or the client, so we were able to rectify it.

If I don’t hear something soon I will have to move some things. Not happy.

Have you tried James thru his gmail account? That is how I contacted and heard from him yesterday. He should be answering the support tickets, however. I don’t deny that, but maybe there is a tech issue with those or something he doesn’t realize.

Has anyone actually heard anything from James over this, I get a little nervous at times, I have only half my eggs in his basket. I even think bad news is better than nothing, at least you can then keep your customers updated.

I’m trying to track down James,. He transferred our domain when he closed shop last year, and my client has lost the GoDaddy login info, so we’re unable to renew.

GoDaddy tells me that the whois shows the domain belongs to James Wilkinson. I asked GD to send us a password reset email to the address they had on file. That email hasn’t made it to my client’s address, so I’m thinking they may have James’s address on file.
