I would like to be able to add an image (or tile an image) in such a way as it only appears in the area that the eventual page will appear. However, it seems that, eg, a left-side tiled image only appears on the very left of the entire browser window, and not the left side of the page itself where I want it. Is there any way to get the control I am seeking? Thanks for any help

I’m not entirely sure what you mean or are trying to do, but it may
help to know that Freeway’s ‘pages’ are just starting points. When
someone visits your site they see your layout in their browser
window. Short of forcing the browser window to a particular size
(which is likely to make most visitors bugger off and not come again
unless you have a truly excellent reason for this), there is no way
to set the size of the area that your page is shown in.
The browser window is the final ‘page’. What you work with in Freeway
is a design starting point, a necessary layout parameter without
which you’d be struggling to make any kind of structured layout
sense. But it isn’t the same thing as working on an A4 or US Letter
page in InDesign, when you’ll be printing to an absolute A4 or US
Letter sheet of paper.
But don’t despair - if you can explain in more detail what you’d like
to achieve there’s almost certainly a logical and straight-forward
way to get there.

Try this: do what you did with the Inspector to make an image appear
on the left of the browser window, but this time make sure that you
have the DIV that is going to be what your’re calling your ‘page’
selected. The picture will then appear as a background to that
particular container, and not the whole browser window.
