Is there a little number in the bottom-right of the alert dialog?
Copy it down, and e-mail it to supportATsoftpress.com. They will be
able to tell exactly what it means, down to where in the code it’s
throwing a tantrum.
Some good debugging steps to go through while you wait: Where is the
folder that you are trying to publish to located? Are all of the
original images and other external resource files (like Flash or
QuickTime) located on your computer, or are they on a server
somewhere? Have you restarted Freeway, or the computer itself, in a
while?

hi folks.
ive tried to view my site in fw5 pro, and when the document has
tried to publish i get the error message,
“could not complete the publish site command because you do not
have the necessary access privileges”
i have been working on the site most of last week and have not had
a problem viewing and publishing,
all the images are in the resources folder all the original files are on my computer and i have restarted my computer today.
so all that looks ok to me.
ive emailed softpress and will report on any details when i get them.
the images i was supplied with are not the best but,
have a look and let me know what you think of the site and how it works, all comments(good and bad) would be most welcome.
Nice minimalist site.
I admire your work. Do you plan to sell any of it on-line?
IMHO you don’t need ‘as an artist’ at the end of the second par on your home page (already stated).
In Firefox, I’m seeing the larger images of your work with mouse-over (no need to click). That’s the same for all of your display pages. If I do click, no larger image appears, apart from what’s already on display with roll-over.
hi rob thanks for the comments,
firstly, the work is not mine, but a friends,
i just done the site for him, and ill pass on you comments.
he will be selling work in the near future, thats the next phase of the site, setting up the e-commerce side of things, so keep checking,
i will be removing the “as an artist”, many thanks for that.
maybe i should re-phrase the “click” to “point to” or something.
many thanks for your comments.
if you use the link on the site and drop stuart an email, im sure he will be delighted and send you some more examples of work if you let him know what you’d be interested in.
Try enlarging your browser window. The black background moves to the right but most of the text does not. Where the text overflows into the white area it becomes almost illegible. Just trying to help, looks like a good site.
Do a Save As into the same folder under a different name.
All he means is to Save As the Freeway document with a different name ie if your FW doc is called mysite.freeway then Save As mynewsite.freeway
The Deletion of the Site Folder is a separate step. At time of Preview/Publish FW will populate the Site Folder with the FW generated Html files and Resources. If you delete the Site folder (and create a new one) it will ensure that there is no legacy FW generated html etc left over and it will all be created fresh.
Recently I made a screencast. It’s more dedicated to “What makes your old FW projects valuable”. And certainly, the Site Folder plays a big role in there. Perhaps you find some useful infos there:
