creating shop

Hi FW friends,
At the moment i’m trying to make a webshop. I made a allready a small webshop about 40 products.

But now I want to make a new shop and here comes the problem. This one has more than 200 articles. And I don’t want to type it in 1 by 1 in the FW pro. (This will give in the future administrative problems; e.g. changing prices)

Questions:
Is there an action where I can upload a list with all products?
Or do I need a complete different approach?

My experience in html code and other programming is a no no, that’s why I use FW.

Thx in advance,
AJ

If you dont want to create your items in FW then you need to look at creating them somewhere else.

Maybe you you should consider separating the cart from FW by using something like Ecwid - there are a few users here that have had some success with it.

It would mean that you could hand over updating of the cart to the client.

I think Thomas has a screencast on integrating Ecwid into a FW site.

Hi Aj
As an alternative to ecwid you could accomplish this with Mals-e and a webyep loop.
Basically you set up a webyep menu which allows you to create as many categories and sub categories as you wish. The webyep menu dynamically generates the pages and on those generated pages you have one webyep mals-e item which is in a loop, this allows you to create as many items on a page that you feel you need to make.
Things like prices, images, pages categories, and vat can all be adjusted by the client and you do this by creating just 1 page within freeway.
The advantage is you can style your page as you wish within freeway. and even change its look as time goes on but the actual content will still be controlled by the webyep CMS.
