CSS Menu alignment

I am having a problem with CSS menus in v5.4

First up it is difficult to align them horizontally so that they are flush up to each other (this was also a problem in previous versions but there was a workaround)

Next I have created 3 CSS menu items on the site below and if you hover the mouse from right to left you will notice that the hover color does not show up as soon as you hover over the link (this is especially noticeable when hovering over the “home” link which only shows at the extreme left of the html “box”.

Please can anyone help as this procect is nearing completion. I have tried reordering the items but this has had no effect. I have also made sure that none of the html items are overlapping (although in 5.3.2 this did not make any difference)

Thanks

Exactly how did you create these? If you made each menu a separate css object…that is why they won’t line up. The prescribed way to use the action is to create a single indented html list, then apply the CSS Menu action to it.

Yes - it appears that each menu item is in its own div - particularly noticeable on the glossary page when rolling over Services/Domestic.

It also appears that you have not built this on a Master page (or not all pages are working from the Master) as the menu is not the same on all pages.

Thanks for your replies guys; I’ll revisit this.

David; the reason the menus are not the same on each page is that I have been rebuilding the links since I updated to 5.4 and it is not yet finished. Eventually they will all be the same however I was under the impression that this action did not work on master pages. It has to be applied to each individual page? Has that changed?

Not true!

Apply to a Master page to propagate pages based on that Master to keep your Navigation consistent site-wide.
