CSS Menu & Fading Slideshow

I have a CSS menu at the top of my page. Some of the menu items drop down to show sub-menus. What I would like to do is place a graphic just below the CSS menu that uses the fading slideshow action to rotate through a few different images.

This works fine except that the drop down sub menus appear behind the fading slideshow graphic. If I remove the fading slideshow action and just have a static image then the menus appear on top as they should.

Is there a way around this? I have tried sending the graphic image to back but that hasn’t made any difference.

Rather than send the graphic to back bring the CSS Menu to front.

I assume that these are layered items.
