It is very very difficult to see your own errors, no matter how good
you are at spotting others’. I have a legendary ability to proofread,
it reminds me of the character from “A Beautiful Mind” how he would
see words outlined in glowing light – I get that totally when reading
something to proof it. But I still miss my own mistakes all the time,
whether I’m writing an e-mail or a Web page.
It’s not your (or my) fault – your brain doesn’t read words, it reads
shapes and translates them into ideas. Since you already know what you
wrote, it’s very easy to skip over the slightly wrong shape because
you know what you want to see there.
I find that if I ask my client to write the copy, and then read that
copy before I place it in the layout, I stand a very good chance of
catching their mistakes. That’s harder to do on long copy, where the
temptation is very great to simply copy and paste and start the
cleanup process immediately. But if you print it out and read it on
paper, I find that makes a big difference with the rate of “catches”
versus “misses”.

Julie did. Dave. But certainly yes, asking someone else to look at copy is an obligation.
The difficulty seems to be, Julie, that you move to eagerly and fast and have only corrected some of those pointed out. Take your time, Dave is giving good advice here. Give it the time it (and he) deserves.
Some of the text problems I was not seeing. I saw the period and things like that.
I had a friend look at it here and we re worked the sentence to what it currently is now.
I am thinking that that is what some of the “uncorrected” errors are.
I agree that he deserves the respect of the time and appreciation. and I fully do respect him and appreciate what he is saying.
