I tried a quick test in FW Pro 5 and was able to do this. Basically you need to create to styles in the styles menu to accomplish this.
Setup you html menu box as normal and set the list to bulleted.
Apply the CSS Menu action to the box.
Give the box a name such as “menuname” in the inspector pallet without the quotes
Open the Style Edit window and create a new style. In the tag field type #menuname. Choose the paragraph style center alignment.
Create a second style but this time give a name in the name field such as “leftalign” but don’t put anything in tag field. Choose the paragraph style left align.
Click ok out of the styles menu. In the page edit view highlight (select) just the drop down part of the menu text and in the styles pallet give it the style .leftalign
Now when you preview you should see the main menu choices as centered at the sub menu drop downs as left aligned.
Sounded good Chuckamuck, I had kinda already gone there, but stepped through your instructions and even created a brand new menu to test on a fresh list…
…but I’m still getting some subs aligning to CENTER.
It’s usually the first menu’s subs that align to center and the others manage to align left.
I couldn’t get this method to work in my project so I copied my list into your project and setup the styles… some of the menus play nicely, but the first menu, sometimes the last, never left aligns the drop-downs.
I’ve resorted to adding a ‘Home’ menu as my first menu, with no drop-downs.
This is silly
I’m going to start my list again, or maybe copy your object into my project in case there’s somethink wierd going on in my text.
I couldn’t get this method to work, either. Within the same CSS menu I have some sub-menu items aligning in the middle and some on the left; as Marcel says, the first ones are aligning in the centre.
