distracting design process

I seem to be missing something here. I’ve applied a background image and in the design process it becomes very distracting to see the background image only on the page and not the entire paste board when designing… Does anyone else seem to be bothered by this?

Actually, I’d be quite extraordinarily bothered by having it appear
all over the pasteboard! I know designing web pages is a little less
absolute than with print design, but Freeway’s pasteboard is
seriously invaluable during the design process… and making it look
so much like actual page/browser window space would be highly
disconcerting.

Have you tried setting your page width a little wider, for example
enough to see the ‘sides’ of your background image? This works well
for me if I’m using a background graphic with ‘fake page edge’
borders. Set the page to be a little wider, set the image’s
horizontal alignment to centered, and use guides to help structure
the page content consistently. As usual.

I’ll try this…my background image “sides” are so much larger then the page…perhaps I don’t need this. In fact this is what is throwing me off…I can’t view the sides. I’ll make the pasteboard image (or background image) smaller along with a larger page size.
