drawing size constrained on screen

I have done something to my settings and now all my drawings open in a window that does not fill my screen. I have tried changing page setup and drawing size but with no effect.
Any ideas?

Is it possible to make custom stoke patterns that can be used to draw paths? I’m tracing ond maps and would like a double line for drawing roads and another for railroad tracks. Both the Line and Stroke tools on the toolbar have “other” settings, but clicking them doesn’t seem to open anything.

Unfortunately there´s no way to have kind of “pattern along path” effect like Inkscape has - but you can try the live effect “Shine Outside” without blur:

Or you can double your line-work - make it thinner and a lighter color than the bold ones for the streets:

Thanks Frank for confirming the results of my search for a solution. I have never used effects and my Effects Inspector shows none that came with the application. Does a library of effects exist someplace, or an “Intaglio Effects for dummies” tutorial that might be of help?

The Effects Menu might be overflowing in YOUR copy of Intaglio, but MINE is empty. See below:

That is why I asked where I can find them. I am running version 3.9.4! Will they appear if I take my laptop and visit my Cousin Götz in Munich?
