Hi All
Using FreewayPro 5.1.1 and following the Dropdown Menus tutorial (written for Freeway 4) I’ve got this far with a little ad-libbing:
http://seasonsdiningroom.com/test.html
As you can see, it all works fine, except the submenu won’t disappear when the mouse moves away from the “Menu” link on the left. I’ve tried messing about with various settings (to disastrous consequences).
Any ideas?

What method are you using for this?
Have you a link to it?

Hi David
Thanks for getting back to me. I used the method described here: http://www.softpress.com/kb/article.php?id=302
I had to make a few modifications, to allow for changes between FW4 and FW5. I’ll need to get home to reconstruct my exact changes (day job calls), but I did set the table’s restore to sticky (and tried various permutations all to no effect)

This is an older version which has generally been superseded firstly by the Navigation fast Pack in 4 and more recently by the CSS menu action in 5
Personally, I have not dipped my toes much into the latest CSS version as I find the 2 table approach of the Menu Bar action to be easy to implement. But there are definite advantages to the list creating CSS approach that is used in 5’s CSS Menus action and that is where I suggest you go for an elegant more up-to-date solution.
See p108 - CSS Menus of the Using Freeway Help Guide for 5
An extract:
CSS Menus
Freeway 5 offers a powerful yet flexible new way to create navigation menus using CSS—making them quick to load, fast in operation and Accessibility-friendly for visitors with disabilities. Another great advantage of CSS over JavaScript is that the menus will display even if the visitor has JavaScript turned off in their browser.
The reference manual for 5 can be found here if you don’t have it.

Start with the latest, the CSS way, and it will be a better investment of your time in the long run.

Thanks for that advice, David. I was just composing a long account of what I’d done, so far, but as you say, the CSS way preferable to JavaScript, so I’ll give it a go.
