Dear Jeremy,
I have a small problem.
I can not duplicate my homepage.

Hi Zosch,
I don’t know what is happening, except that the message is being generated by macOS rather than by Xway. You do seem to have read/write permissions.
I think what I would try to do in this situation is to rename the document (File/Rename) and see if I can save it then. Or duplicate it (File/Duplicate) and try to save the duplicate.
Does anyone have other suggestions?
Update: it’s odd that the document seems to have been renamed as 28-2-2025 (according to the title bar and tab), but the alert says “Xway HP 2025 copy” could not be saved as “28-2-2025”. Are you saving to a local drive?
Jeremy
Hi Jeremy,
I renamed the file to 28-2-2025 and tried to save to Dropbox.
Thanks for your very fast reply.
Roland
You could try renaming the file to something simpler without special characters, like “Xway_HP_2025_Copy”, as macOS might struggle with certain formats. Restarting Finder or macOS might also help resolve temporary system issues. Additionally, check your available disk space since the file is 5.12 GB, which might cause problems if your storage is low. If space is sufficient, moving the file to another location (e.g., the mac desktop) and attempting duplication there could work.
Hi Roland,
Dropbox can cause these types of problem (for any document-based application). It’s best to copy a file from Dropbox to a local folder before opening it in Xway, then copy it back afterwards.
Thanks @Blep for your suggestions! Hyphens should be fine on native macOS file systems (but forward slashes aren’t allowed).
