Hi Rob.
It’s hard to tell, but what I did find was that SU hated any of the
bezier curves I tried to import- in fact it hung.
Sketchup, for what it is worth, is an Apple Cocoa app, and it really
is lovely working with real Apple apps. I think it is, in the long run
a good thing that Google have dropped dxf support on the freeware
version, because it will encourage folk to buy this great software
(for what it does, it’s a terrific bargain).
Anyway enough of my ‘advertising’!
I did also notice that an import using PDF (which wouldn’t work
either, but allowed me to ‘place without dropping’), was really
pixelated.
I’ve been using some software called QCad with very good results, but
QCad is very unMac-like, looking more like a Windows 98 nightmare (but
it works on a Mac!), and another called HighDesign, which is beautiful
Mac software, but is a bit pricey (for 2D). Like usual, it’s a money
thing.
May be worth noting that there is a really good little 2D Cad app for
the iPhone called Cadtouch R2 which comes with my blessings!

Tom, do you get any loss in accuracy by taking the SVG →
illustrator route?

No.
What you are pointing me to is a dxf plugin for the free version of
SketchUp, which was eliminated from the new version 7.1.
This has nothing to do with Intaglio- nor will it help with
exporting from Intaglio to SketchUp.

Is this plug-in any use?
