EasiForm/EasiCaptcha based site - forms suddenly stopped working

I have EasiForm and EasiCaptcha on protectingcareers.com – predominantly in the “Questionairre” nav. This is hosted at ineedwebhosting.co.uk.

The site and forms have been working for the past two years just fine. This changed somewhere around 31 May 2012. The client says they have not received any form responses since then, even though they should have received at least two based on clients calling and wondering why they haven’t heard back.

Has anything changed recently on ineedwebhosting.co.uk that might affect how EasiForm/EasiCaptcha is working? Any thoughts are much appreciated. This is a code red for this client, as their new business is derived from these form responses.

I have not made any updates since January of this year, and up until now, everything was functioning properly.

For a little more info on this topic – The last form response received appears to have been sent by a spambot (see below).

There was a form sent by a real client on 4 June and another on 7 June. Neither have been received.

Have you tried/tested completing the web form/s yourself as seeing if any replies come though and work as intended?

Hi David,

Yes, I pointed the last form in the questionnaire dropdown to my personal email. I get my success page, but nothing is delivered.

Question is, was the mail sent by the form processor and if it was, was it caught in spam anywhere along the way?

I don’t know Easiform well enough to comment apart from it works if setup correctly on our servers.

Have you contacted the action writer ~ Mike at Easibase.com to see how a script check could be made?

Andrew, this ‘spam’ would not affect your forms function but it would probably help your client to add the following to the bad words field:

http://,[url

then make one of those fields or text areas required so the form blocks this type of email.

As I suggested in a direct email, it would help if you tried submitting a couple of the forms. I remember where someone contacted me because a client said she could not get any service or answer from me by email, then when I looked into it that person admitted they did not actually send any email to try and contact me… so it might be good to check these yourself.

I have just tried one but see I made a type in my email address although that would not stop the form email from getting through, I just entered ‘Test’ in most of the text areas but used my real name.
