If you’ve made a style for your text, you can change it’s leading in the style in the styles palette.

Click on your style, go to Paragraph and change the leading.

I always make the space after and space before set to “0” on all my styles, then change them as I need them. They are usually set to default, which I’m not exactly sure what measurement “default” uses, but I usually don’t want it.

It is 1 em, which is the same as the width of the capital M in that font.

For a quicky solution, here’s what I do:

  1. Select the text in question.
  2. Note the pixel size in the Inspector.
  3. Style menu > Leading > choose the “px” size that matches your font size.

Your text will look vertically smashed (no space between lines), but that seems to be what you want. If it’s too smashed, then just add 1px or 2px to the Leading.

I recommend against using proportional (%) Leading because stupid IE (Windows Internet Explorer) likes px Leading instead. This is a valid consideration in light of the unfortunate fact that most people still use some flavor of Internet Explorer (on Desktop PCs anyway).
