error when uploading site

Hi,

I get the following error when I am uploading my site, can anyone help. The count starts at about 1900 and usually gets down to about 200 before the following error appears.

"cannot change directory because of an FTP error [550 Failed to change directory]
[550:327:1540]

the changes I make to the site appear to publish correctly.

Have you checked the permissions of all directories on the server ? Maybe there is one the actual ftp user is unable to change into.
