OK, so I’ve spent months and aged myself about ten years making my website. It looks ok but someone said I should have alt tags on the photos.
So first of all I changed the names of the files I was using in iPhoto and uploaded but still no tags… the pictures imported into freewayX as if I hadn’t changed the file names.
I looked on here and saw it was a simple process of adding them for each image in the inspector.
but when I checked the uploaded site they still aren’t showing up. I’m looking at them in firefox on a mac.
Hi Liz, have you changed the names of the original files? OR, did you copy the original files say to your site folder, before they were changed - when you first made your website and then just now changed the original file names?
that was confusing - what i mean is: FW will source the files from the location you originally specified. If these files are copies of the originals held elsewhere and you changed these filenames then I would suspect that you would need to go to the contextual menu, CTRL click on image, then go to Modify and then edit you will see that you can locate and update these files.
I changed them in iPhoto, but I think that iPhoto separates modified and original files; well it did ages ago, though I don’t seem to get the same folders up now. though again thinking about it, by importing directly from iPhoto in FWX it may be that it goes straight to the unmodified file names.
Hi David,
I ~think~ that’s what I’m expecting! I don’t see anything when I move my cursor over them. I want this because I’m told it’s good for SEO, but also I’ll later be working on making a website that has to be fully accessible for disabled people, including sight impaired, so it would be useful if I can get right on this site. Plus, (and especially because my ‘real’ job is in the disability field) it’s obviously a good thing for my site to be as accessible as possible anyway!
