I would be very grateful for help.
I have an Imac G4 700MHz. Today I upgraded from Panther OS to Tiger OS - this is as high an upgrade as my computer can cope with.
The problem is that Freeway Express 3.5 no longer works and this is the software I used for my website. I can redo it using other software but would prefer not to.
Online research suggests that there is an updater that can stabilize Freeway Express 3.5 but I have been unable to locate it. It seems like Softpress have removed all of the updaters for old software and you can only download trials for new software.
On the website Softpress say they no longer support 3.5. I have emailed them using the contact form and got an automated response saying that they probably won’t reply to enquiries about this version of Express.
Anyone know where I can get the updater? I think it is 3.5.15 or something like that.

FW do offer a version that will run on your system (4 or maybe 5) - use the Form at http://www.softpress.com/kb/contact to contact them about it.
Not sure you will get a response before Tuesday though.

Thanks David,
I have been in contact with them and have received a response. For various reasons the problem has not been resolved yet but I am persevering with it because I do like working with Freeway and would like to stick with it.
It seems odd that this updater is not easily available online as its only purpose seems to be to stabilize the software for Tiger OS.

I have just received the updater I needed from Softpress Sales and Freeway Express is working again! Phew! Was beginning to think I’d have to redo my website in different software.

Or update your computer to one from the 21st Century!

Just as an aside to this - there is a workaround that does allow you to install Leopard on your 700Mhz iMac - I am assuming it is the flat panel 15" unit.
I have done it for a friend so that they could run a more recent version of iTunes that allowed them to sync with a Touch that they couldn’t do otherwise.
You are not supposed to be able to install Leopard on anything that runs at less than 1Ghz I think but it does work.

Harumph! My computer was manufactured in 2002 - it may be old (or as I prefer to say “vintage”) - but is 21st century.
I heard about the Leopard workaround but decided not to do this at the moment because my other software and peripherals are also quite elderly and may not work on this OS.
