[Express] create CSS Menu

Unable to create an ACCESSIBLE CSS menu… what I create from following the manual and tutorial comes up with a window that reads “cannot use this action. can only be applied to items that contain a list”.
yet this are the steps I done a dozen times and still same.

  1. draw html item on your page (I first click on the html icon in the menu bar and draw the box)
  2. type the four names of the pages (create a list of the names) and link each word to the page
  3. click on + in actions palette and it shows the pallette with '"cannot use this action. can only be applied to items that contain a list.

After you make your four names, select all text (Command-A) and in the Inspector, in the first tab near the bottom, click on the right arrow under the List segment. That will format your four names as a list. That’s what the error message is telling you.

How it looks (as a list) is seriously not important at all, so don’t try to do anything to style that list or make it look less unlovely. Leave all of the styling decisions to the Action.

You have to select the text, and (via the inspector) indent it in order to create a list. The CSS Menus action uses the list items to build up) the CSS menu.
