[Express] Gallery problem

Hi out there,
got a problem creating a gallery in showcase for a website. All the thumbnails look fine in showcase but when I export to freeway and insert them into the website some images are rotating from portrait to landscape. Have checked them in showcase and noticed that the thumbnails are ok but they rotate when clicking on the large image. I can’t find any controls to rotate them back to their proper orientation, Can anyone help…?

Can we see it online somewhere?

Hi David,

afraid not, I have just started building the site, this is the first gallery page I have added. The problem is there even before I publish the page in the browser. It is random and doesn’t happen with every portrait picture, just some. I am getting another problem as well now when I actually insert the showcase item I get a warning regarding Java script and it won’t import the gallery into the action item box.
Not sure if it is a problem with the software or some of the images ?

In that case there is not much to diagnose without seeing the files themselves.

I had this same issue - Version 1.1.5 (1023)
However - it happens even BEFORE exporting to Freeway.

I’ve never used Showcase before but thought I might give it a try for one of my new projects…

Someone gave me 480 × 640 portrait oriented photos from an iPhone for this. I dropped them into Showcase and they looked fine in ThumbView but when I double clicked and went to LargeView - BAM the image rotated 90 degrees CW.

I quit and tried again with no better result. Then I tried - NEW - and dropped a different, NOT-iPHONE file in there. It worked this time.

OK, this is an issue with files from certain devices then.
I opened the iPhone files in Photoshop and re-saved them over themselves - no changes, just JPG saved as JPG again.
(Hint - PS/Scripts/ImageProcessor can do this to an entire batch for you in one shot)

This fixes it. At least for me… hopefully for someone else too!
