[Express] HTML boxes move around

Hello All,

I have a new background for a page. Did the bckgrnd in Photo Elments and saved 2 versions, a jpg and a gif. NOt sure which is better. Both look equal to me.

Imported into FW page. When Placing HTML boxes on it and then previewing the page, the boxes are never quite where I draw them. THey shift around??? And Graphic boxes with text causes the text to be skewed or distorted in preview mode??? Always wondered why this was.
Thanks,
Al

A background image is not imported - it is selected in the inspector.

With nothing on your page selected look in the Page Inspector under the Paintbrush Tab.

In the Background section use the image selector to choose your background image on your HD, set tiling options - Done!

Ok got that.
When you draw an HTML box on top of the page background
shouldn’t the HTML box stay put? Mine moves over to the edge of the background for some reason or perhaps this is just a preview issue.

Thanks,

Can you post a link to an example page online with a note of what you are expecting to see.

An HTML box on top of a background should not be affected by the bg in any way - this is because the bg (if added using the method I outlined) is not part of the FW page at all.

I think I have it working based on your help.

A few things I have always wondered…

  1. What happens if the background image one selects is smaller or larger than the site’s page size ? Does this effect anything?

  2. Anything happen if you choose a background color underneath the background image or should it be none?

Thanks,
Al

If it smaller then you can choose for it to tile either horizontally or vertically - in fact this is the preferred option to reduce page size.

You can certainly have a background colour as well - it will only show where there is no bg image.
