I’ve followed all of the steps, added the file from my desktop, but upon publishing, I receive an Error 404 message.
Help?

Could you share any link with us to have a look on?
404 is “not found” so … I guess:
Not used Freeway’s FTP feature, added the files manually, did it wrong so as result some broken paths?
Just shot into the dark.

Publishing only creates a html and jpegs connecting to the html page. you need to create a folder within the site folder from publishing and store and link the pdf there. Also when you use the internal ftp setup to your web server it will only send the resource folder instead of the linkable folder for your pdf. Been there done it! I ended up using a separate ftp software to send the folder to link up correctly. Have a look at my website for example.

there are in total two kind of actions:
graphic link to PDF
textlink to PDF.
Both applied you neither have to create any folder or stuff, cause your PDF is directly sent to resources folder and proper linked to there.
Quick and dirty.
Don’t understand what you’re describing here. And never use any external ftp as long as you haven’t got important reason for it.

My Apologies I may have gone the long way round. I created a graphic box first, then place an image of the pdf file. Right clicked the image and selected hyperlink. Which allowed me to select the pdf file via my resource folder. Likewise for the text linking for my other html pages. Silly me.

Well agree that there are a lot of different ways going down the road but it is sometimes worth to have a deeper look into the shared actions either installed by default or extended by actionsforge.
For example the “Upload Stuff” or the “Upload Extra Resources” that once applied enables you to sent files either to HTML location or directly into Resources Folder without any further need of special ftp clients.
All a question of technique (a popular german advertising slogan).

Always wondered what that meant - just never bothered looking it up!
