Hi all, having lots of problems with a site I have built with 5.5.
Every time I change something on my master pages and then reapply or to all the other pages and then publish the site I get a message saying some html text not belonging to the site will be overwritten, which I OK as I don’t know what it refers to. Where upon the Freeway crashes.
Any clues as to why, is the software corrupt ? or is it a bug ?
The site has galleries made up in showcase, maybe this is a problem…

The error saying that html files will be overwritten can be safely ignored but what I would do is create a new site folder (in the Finder).
Then in File>Document Setup half way down there is a button where you can select that newly created site folder. Do that and then try publishing again.
Hi David,
brilliant, that worked. Do I have to do this every time I make a change to the master page to avoid the crashing or will now stop ?
And can I delete the new folder I created in the finder as the original site to have held onto the changes I made ?
Thanks again,
Neil

Hopefully it will stop now.

I would keep the one you have just made and delete the original. Remember that FW populates the Site folder every time you publish - usually just with items/pages you have changed - so you can actually delete its contents as often as you like. The changes are actually stored in the .freeway file itself.
