Every colour you have used in your document will appear in the colour palette but you can remove unused colours by clicking on the Gear icon at the top right of the palette and choose Edit Colors
You will then see a dialogue window where you can select colours and delete them at will.
If you try and delete a colour that is in use you will be asked to select a substitute.
Hey David,
I see the gear but removing colors is grayed out.
Perhaps I have the wrong gear or color palette.
I am specifically trying to reset the palette or remove colors
for 1 table I inserted not the whole site if that matters.
If you create a new document it will open with only the basic colour set.
You could then copy/paste the pages from your old document into the new one and only the actual colours used in those pages should be added to the new documents colour palette.
To erase a color from that little color bar at the bottom of the color palate of FREEWAY EXPRESS simply drag a white box (empty box) over the top of the color you want to delete and it will disappear like MAGIC!!!
Lee,
The color list I am trying to delete from would be the drop down in the page inspector box for color.
Not from the color inspector box.
I’ve added a lot of colors to the drop down by choosing “other” many times. In my color palette box I have no colors to delete.
And…
By empty box to drag are you referring to a graphic I draw myself?
thanks,
Al
I read the entire chaper on color in my Express manual and there is very little you can do in Express. It’s enough for what I need but . . .
OK, you are talking about a drop down menu in the PAGE inspector palette. NOT the little box that has the crayons, the color wheel, and the sliders. It’s a drop down menu where you can choose OTHER at the top?
IF you use the OTHER color you have made in that website it will stay there until you delete or change the color of the object you used the color in. Be it a table or a page, it is ‘locked’ into that file until you delete the object with that color.
If you have a table that is a puke green and you change the table to to white or one of the 8 colors that are the defaults, that puke green will disappear from the list.
What I was referring to is the little white squares that appear below the COLORS pop up box. You can drag colors you have selected or made from the RGB sliders down to that bar (which is expandable) to save them for OTHER websites. They will show up when I open a new site.
When you open a NEW site, those colors aren’t there, is that right?
LOTS more color management options in PRO. But so far, I’m doing OK with EXPRESS.
